Wecome and list rules

Welcome to the Korean War Discussion List

We, the listowners and the University of Kansas, wish to welcome you to 
KOREAN-WAR-L, a list dedicated to discussion of the Korean War, a period 
limited for our purposes the period 1945-1955. Discussion of other 
countries and earlier events are permissible insofar as these pertain to 
the subject of this list.

As with any discussion involving multiple personalities a few rules are 
necessary to keep discussion "on subject" and civil. The Listowners are 
responsible to the University of Kansas for the proper use of these 
facilities, which means that the list facilities may not be used for 
commercial purposes, obscenities or profanities, attacks upon individuals 
or groups, or messages sent for the purpose of being offensive. Offenders 
will be warned when any of these happen and, if the behavior continues, be 
removed for the list.

This said, we want to keep rules to a minimum so here are the basics:

a. Messages should be sent in plain text form.
b. Attachments, graphics or excessively long messages should not be sent.
c. Contributions to discussions should be substantive. Postings
of "I agree," "Right on," and the like should be avoided.
d. Copies of previous messages should be trimmed when included
in replies.
f. Subject headers should accurately reflect the contents of the
posting.
f. Private queries and comments should be sent offlist

KOREANWARL is a forum offered free of any charge by the list
owners or the University of Kansas.. Any question, request or complaint 
should be addressed to the listowners at ibetext@raven.cc.ukans.edu, and 
their decision on any matter involving to operation of the list is final.
