You gotta luv compooters!  I just got interrupted, and I did it to myself!

    To continue my msg to you, re: Altman.  I offered to attend the 
commemorative events--at my own expense--even give a talk on my book (SpecOps 
during the war).  What I got back from her was a stiff if not insulting 
letter; one that left the overwhelming impression that all would be well if 
the vets would just leave them alone, as their planned activities were in no 
need of help from anyone outside the organization (like maybe vets and 
historians for example).  

    So as I said, your voluntary apology may be unnecessary.  Certainly so if 
what limited exposure I've had to Altman's style is any example of the way 
she came across at Ft. Belvoir.
