Re: Pyongyang Rose?



My brief experiences with "Seoul City Sue's" (a takeoff from the name of a 
popular American song "Sue City Sue") broadcast was about a day or two prior 
to the Inchon Landing, the ship (USS Noble - APA-218) that I was on, 
broadcast her program over the ship's PA system.  The ship had played a few 
of her programs for the troops'  entertainment. One night her program was 
centered on the 1st Marines upcoming landing at Inchon.  Up to the time of 
this broadcast we did not know our destination. It was Seoul City Sue who 
told us the day and place we were going to land. The thing that caught most 
of the men's attention was when she made the remark "The 1st Marine Division 
was going to hold roll-call in a telephone booth the day after it landed 
(paraphrased)."        Don
