Re: USAF Crash Rescue/Intelligence Boats

Dear Ed:
I got your message on the crash/intelligence operations of the boats. I am 
one of the guys in Mike's book "In the Devil's shadow." What I am really 
interested in is who were the "visitors" from 8th Army who were with us on 
the boat in October, 1951, at Chodo? They went with me on a mission and made 
recommendations for us for decorations which we never received. Some of us 
are dead, sick and we are not interested in the pieces of cloth and the 
silver and bronze. We just want someone to step up to it and say that we 
existed, besides Mike's efforts and a "letter of Appreciation" FOM the 6004th 
Air Intelligence Special Services Detachment #1. If you. as a writer with 
some clout and space to get published there are enough of us left to tell you 
the real story about these boats. Mike's work was truncated by editorial 
digression and it was unfair to him and the air Force Sailors alike.
