Re: New book on Korean War Special Operations

I concur. Mike's new book is an excellent resource on the Korean War.

Mike writes good books. I like the way he treats the natives (Koreans). I
will be posting English abstracts of some of the articles written by Korean
participants. It is interesting to compare their accounts with those given
by the American participants. I am hoping to get the other guy's (NK)
accounts as well.

Subject: New book on Korean War Special Operations

Naval Institute Press released an excellent work on Korean War special
operations today.
Entitled IN THE DEVIL'S SHADOW, and written by Col. Michael Haas, USAF
Rtd., this
history is the most comprehensive work on this subject to date as it covers
all special
operations -- Army, Navy, USAF and CIA. This work is well footnoted and
cited. Of
special interest to me was the list of CIA documents Colonel Haas was able
to have
declassified. To my knowledge this is the first time these documents have
appeared in
print.
