Ed,
I was using a ballpark figure, which I do not believe is exceedingly
high. As you say, we have no way of knowing exact numbers of
"friendly-fire" incidents, so I used a ballpark number (for which I
apologize, but I wanted to make a point). Also it is important to
remember that "friendly-fire" incidents need not involve death, nor for
that matter injury to human beings. My understanding, and I could be
wrong, is that the term merely refers to any incident in which troops
accidentally fire upon their comrades.
