How do you account for Don Gill's posting yesterday in which he stated that
the 1st Marine Division was effectively a segregated outfit for the first
six months of the War?  I'm not attempting a flame here, I am simply
curious, as you both were there.

Regarding MacArthur's apology to Shepherd, could you provide a citation for
this?  I'm quite curious as to the provenance of such a remark.
