Mike, Patch was an Army general, commanded the division (Americal?) which
relieved the 1st MarDiv on 9Dec42. I know nothing about the Patch Report,
and from what I know about the Guadalcanal cleanup after the 1st MarDiv
left, I don't think that Patch or the Army had any reason to complain about
the combat of the 2d MarDiv Marines he had. BMF
