I'd be interested in seeing the original personal account. Do you have a
complete citation for it?

Actually, there were small groups of Communist guerrillas, armed
sympathizers and common bandits (who were often identified as communist
guerrillas) operating in the ROK till several years after the war. Their
activities became progressively less armed combat/guerrilla warfare and more
intelligence collection as time went on.
