Re: An observation on the first 30 days of the Korean War

A perceptive observation to say the least, and likely a key ingredient in
their following conduct. I'm trying to remember, weren't the Wolfhounds the
army unit that, along with a contingent of U.S. Marines, sent to northern
Russia to fight the Bolsheviks for a brief period in the 1920s? Seems to me
that the Wolfhounds have been blessed with good lineage and pride for a long
time. And to give credit where credit is due, maybe they were luckier than
average in having good leadership assigned to them over a prolonged period.
I'm not clear whether the Wolfhounds have been considered a "premier" unit in
the conventional infantry ranks. Premier enough to have the army give some
thought as to who they assign to the unit.
