RE: [the-forgotten-war]
Maury:
The North Koreans are a law unto themselves, and they LIKE being bosses of
their little country. The commanders of the North Korean armed forces LIKE
being big shots. The Marxist-Leninist rhetoric against the South Koreans and
the USA are going to continue for a long time to come.
I don't think there will be much change, unless someone can figure out a way
for the North Korean government to stay in power while the South Koreans pay
the bill to modernize North Korea, with the prestige going to the North
Korean government. That's quite a big requirement. Even offering the North
Korean big shots big pensions to give up their existing power might not
work.
I note that the South Koreans have noticed how expensive the West Germans
found re-absorbing East Germany into one German nation. It would be an
incredible financial burden for the South Koreans to take over the financial
support of another Korea, populated by starving paupers.

Ain't it something north and south are going to get
together according to
the now leaders of their countries. Wonder what 33000 Dead
US servicemen
would think about what is happening in North Korea now.
Maybe the families of
the long dead soldiers can make some meaning out of all
this.
It seems as if the North is destitute and will accept the
South with open
arms as long as their wallets are open. They will probably
get into our
wallets also. I think that they could see that their plan
has failed but do
not seem to be making any changes
Looks as if their OX is in the ditch and they want someone
to help pull him
out.
