Chosin Reservoir
Some time ago, prior to my three attempts to subscribe, someone- I believe
his name was ED, stated authoritatively that 50% of the troops at the Chosin
Reservoir were Army. That is incorrect. There were 17,000 Marines of the
First Marine Division, 2,000 Army (one battalion of the 31st Regiment, one
battalion of the 32 Regiment, two batteries of the 57th Field Artillery) and
245 members of the 41 Commando of the British Royal Marines. The rest of the
Army 3rd and 7th Divisions were 73 miles away in the Wonson-Hungnam-Hamhung
area.
