I think based on Chinese and Russian comments that Marine and Navy tactical
close air support was probably the one thing the PLA feared most. One general
made an honest comment a few years ago that "blue airplanes" cost the Chinese
one million casualties over the course of the war. (He was immediately
retired and "spin doctors" said the old boy was probably confused.)
They said little about the USAF aircraft, and I am not sure what that means.
The Russians and Koreans do comment on what we now call BAI (battlefield air
interdiction) but noted that this was oriented more on either daytime strikes
on fixed targets like bridges and rail lines or nighttime truck movements.
