Re: Next Korean War?
I really do not think another war in Korea is in inevitable. If there is
another one I hope the U.S. is smart enough (and it isn't) not to get
involved because the Chinese will not allow the U.S. to co-occupy North
Korea. So once again, the best the U.S. could hope for is to fight another
UN style of war of containment that will end with a cease-fire right where it
started. Even if we didn't get involved and the North Koreans were fortunate
enough to defeat South Korea -- one on one (which I doubt they can) -- it
would only be a couple of years before the World Trade Organization(s) would
be beating a path to the unified Korean door to take advantage of its cheap
labor.
I for one do not want any of my grandchildren to be among the
missing-in-action for the next fifty-plus years. "Those who fail to heed the
lessons of history are bound to repeat them."
