See this Russian URL  http://www.history.enjoy.ru/su76.html.  A good 
history of the SU-76, from the development through WWII (Great Patriotic 
War if you are a Russian).  The SU-76's that were used by the North 
Koreans in the 50s-80s are of this vintage.
