RE: Letters from the Korean War

Melissa,

Per your request, my Father was a pilot in the USAF in the Korean War. He wrote over 50 letters home during the war. He was shot down and captured by North Koreans on 26 Jan 1952. His last letter home and the last letter sent by my Mother are listed at the following URLs:

All of the letters my Father wrote can be found on this webpage.

Subject: Letters from the Korean War

We are producing a one-hour documentary for the PBS series, The American
Experience, called "Letters from War." The film will be a collection of
letters written by American soldiers home from war -- from the Revolutionary
War through the Gulf War. We are looking for letters from the Korean War and
I would be grateful for information on collections of letters at libraries,
museums, etc., as well as any personal collections that people might be
willing to share.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
