A tank-infantry task force from the 21st Infantry entered Haeju and secured
the town by noon, then turned north in an advance toward
Sariwon. Meanwhile, a massive traffic jam developed at Namch'onjom as the
27th British Commonwealth Brigade, the 5th Cavalry Regiment and the 19th
Infantry Regiment, 24th Division, all tried to advance up the
Namch'onjom-Sariwon road.
To the east the 1st ROK Division secured Suan, some 40 air miles southeast
of P'yongyang.
Capital ROK Division troops secure both Hungnam and Hamhung. Meanwhile ROK
I Corps ground troops complete the task of clearing the peninsula at the
north end of Wonsan Harbor and the islands to the south of the peninsula.
