The only "known" 18 inch Gun Tubes[barrels] were produced in
the Japan Steel facility, in Hokkaido. They were installed on the Japanese
battleship YAMATO. The factory was shelled by the USS Missouri, shortly before
the end of WW II. The Japanese were so honored by this attention that some of
the holes in the "tin" roof were still there, in
1962.
