Sounds like a misidentification as none of the Soviet MiGs were in the area at that time, and the Chinese were using mostly MiG-9s and La-9/11 fighters. The Soviets had the 106th Fighter Aviation Division in China for training new Chinese pilots and air defense, but they were concentrated in the Nanjing Province area across from Taiwan.
