Re: KW research sources
Hi, Cookie and all:
I have been dying to get hold of US Navy archives on the Hungnam evacuation
in Dec 1950. In particular, I am looking for the rescue of a ROK LST stuck
in mud at the Hungnam harbor.
US Navy frogmen torched off the prop and helped float the ship, which was
towed away. I was on this ship, but I cannot even remember the ship's name,
let alone the US Navy guys who saved my neck on that day, Xmas eve of 1950.
I believe the AP ran a story on the stuck LST.
Any archival data will be much appreciated.

Ed,
If you go to the site
http://www.history.navy.mil/
they have a CD for sale for $10 which lists all of the aircraft carriers and
air groups which participated in the war. The best thing is this is not a
history as much as a PDF version of all of their after-action reports, with
losses by date, pilot and BuAer number, as well as what worked and what
didn't work. A great deal and good value for the money!
