Impressive analysis of the US policy
in the Far East at the time! It is quite
clear that the Taiwan issue was closely
tied with the developments in Korea.

Add to the list of pro-Chiang figures, the
China Lobby & pro-Rhee lobby in the US
at the time!  I understand that the former
OSS boss Donovan was deeply involved in
the pro-Chiang China Lobby. I wonder what
kind of advice or life-saving plan he devised for
Chiang & Rhee. Are there any private papers of
Donovan available to the public?
