You might find MEDIC, a memoir by Crawford Sams, helpful. Sams headed the
sanitation program at the beginning of the war and supervised MASH units.

I recently came across a reference to a monograph on the problems
sanitation and the like posed during the Korean War, but have since
misplaced it.  Although I recognize this isn't a very precise
description of what I'm trying to locate I hope it will ring some bells
with some of you and that you will be kind enough to point me in the
right direction.
