Complementing what Ed has just posted I would simply add that a significant
portion of the ROKA was deployed within the deep rear (e.g., Chiri-san area,
etc.) engaged in anti-guerrilla operations. Thus they were not available at
the front. Not that it would have made a significant difference. As Ed has
pointed out they were woefully under equipped and many needed significantly
more training.
