Re: Scope of subjects for KOREAN-WAR-L
Folks
I believe the interest in the Korean as well as Vietnam was due to the
Government itself in a lot of ways
During the Second World War almost all the people, or all the people were
involved in the War effort. There were food shortages. We were issued coupon
books for gas. We in grade school were sent oout every week or so and
collected paper for the effort. We also went around pulling a cart looking
for scrape metal for the war effort. It was not sold but given as with the
paper. All taken to school and turned in and the best class got an atta-boy.
I believe that when all the people are involved as We were then there is a
whole different feeling about the War. There were no shortages of anything
that I recall during the Korean War. Not like having to restrict your driving
or go without meat to eat on certain days.
When everyone is pitching in a doing something there is a feeling of helping
the effort instead of being a bystander. GABARIEL HEATER also helped out
