Re: Learning more

I have Mike Lynch's annotated copy of Blair's book. Mike has 57 comments on
the first chapter. Mike was Walker's pilot until the accident, and then flew
for Ridgway. He landed in the south of France as a private and was
commanding his armored infantry rifle company when they crossed the Rhine.
He was far and away the best brigade commander I knew in Vietnam. I will try
to get his comments on Blair's work for you.

An enlisted medic from the 34th Infantry just behind us at Osan transformed
himself into an historian of the area. I will ask him to share what he has
learned from you as well. He is Lacy Barnett. He has made an extensive
effort to repair the reputation his regiment had pasted on them in this early
days.

Best,

Carl Bernard
