That depends on the perspective of each party.

Syngman Rhee & Uncle Sam would have cried "wife abuse!"
but North Koreans would have said that they were just
trying to punish the wife who was commiting adultery with the Yangkee.

Sometimes, I wonder what would happened to Korea if
US didn't intervene. There wouldn't have been so much
destruction and killing in Korea. I think the only persons who
really benefited from the War were Syngman Rhee clique which
extended its dictatorial rule until 1960(when it was finally overthrown by the
South Korean students) and the US military/industrial complex
which enriched themselves so much by selling huge quantities of weapons of
destruction.

As you said, just a theory!
