Marty, that may well be the case.

But, on the other hand, it is also quite possible that a united Korea
under Kim Il Sung could have developed into a country like
Yugoslavia under Tito. Besides, we could have avoided the huge
loss of lives--both Koreans and Americans--during the three years'
protracted war and the continuing tragedy of a divided Korea, which
is still saddled with huge waste in military spending by both North,
South and the U.S. With all those money saved from the military
spending, Korea could have developed into a much advanced
country than Japan.  Do you know how much both Koreas spend
on their military each year?
