There were three UDT teams in Korea, team 1, 3 and 5. They were used extinsively in recon and demolition raids behind enemy lines. I was in UDT 1 from 1950-52. We spend 17 months in Korea and made over 200 combat beach recons and three night demo raids on rail lines as much as 250 miles behind existing lines in August, 1950. Other teams were also used extensively. There is a dearth of information on the UDT's in current literature. About the only limited coverage is in Haas' In the Devils Shadow.

In the Korean war, I believe they were called UDT's- Underwater Demolition
Teams. As far as I know, they were used at Inchon driving lead boats to the
landing sites, and to clear the mines in Wonson harbor. I don't know if they
were used elsewhere. Lee
