Gil,

We had 5-gal oil cans rigged to blow up and throw burning fuel around 
likely landing spots on the various partisan-held islands.  These devices 
had the tops cut out were filled, IIRC, with gasoline, then a powder was 
stirred in to thicken the gas.  A loose cover was placed on top and 
camouflaged.  There was "command-fired detonating/ignition charge under the 
can. It has been a long time but is seems to me the power was some kind of 
detergent.  Anyone know for sure what that stuff was?
