Yosu Mutiny (1948)
YS,
>>What about Cheju 4.3 of 1948, the August Harvest Uprising, Yosu Mutiny of
1948 and other "communist" uprisings from 1945 to 1949 before the war?
In particular, Cheju 4.3 is about to "explode" - according to a SK source.
There are three fulltime investigators combing the boxes at the National
Archives.<<
Let it explode, as long the facts are true and not a smokescreen. I've
heard a half dozen variations of the Yosu Mutiny. Most account generally
agree about what happed after the the 4th ROK Infantry Regiment revolted,
there are vast differences as to who was responsible, what led up to the
mutiny and who actually set it off. Official histories up to now say the
Korean Labor Party, helped by communist agents, were those behind the
scene. Probably partially true, but it could not have happened without
corrupt SK military and political officials setting the stage by ripping
off both military and local civilians to feather their own nest. Be
>interesting to see what comes out.
