Re: Reality Check
Burkett has made claims of his service that was disproved by another hunter.
It was not Burkett who destroyed the reputations of the others. It was
different parties in each case. I can give you the name of one of the slander
heroes, the other has requested to remain anonymous. The one is Richard
Matheney of Michigan, the holder of a Navy Cross, Silver Star, I believe
Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He attended a veterans affair wearing his
medals, A "Hunter" challenged him to prove it, his response was "Who the hell
walks around with a DD214 in his Pocket?" A brawl ensued and these heroic
"Hunters" beat him senseless and threw him out into the muddy parking lot,
and then branded him a phony and started the rumor flowing. He has never been
able to counter the accusation. He will no longer take part in any veterans
celebration, Understandably.
I know he won those medals, I was with him when he did. Semper Fi. Lee N. Mead
