Re: Reality Check

Mike, I can't comment on your Seal friend, but as for Burkett- I don't think
he is malicious-but I wonder about anyone who embellishes his own record then
accuses others. Don't take my word for it, keyword on to "Sgt. Grit" and go
to the bulletin board. There people on that board that are familiar with
Burkett and can give you all the facts. My statements are based on a rather
lengthily article written (details lost in time) by another Vietnam Vet, who
researched Burkett and listed chapter and verse all of Burketts
falsifications.
Regarding your feelings about the families and friends of the wannabe, I'm of
the opinion, that most women and children today are not in tune with the
thinking of military people, therefore not recognizing the significance of
the situation. To them it would be a small disappointment, but certainly not
enough to have a serious effect on the family relationship. We might call
this the Hillary syndrome. Of course, I might be wrong, I have been wrong
before, I remember being wrong a long time ago. At that time I thought I had
made a mistake, but I was wrong. Let me know how you make out. Semper fi. Lee
