Their status was what was called "RECAP-K." which meant "Recaptured, 
Korea." After local debrief, medical condition permitting, they were flown 
to Japan for full debriefing, then returned to the Z.I. (States)  They were 
not allowed to return to Korea, even if they volunteered to do so.  I 
believe this was done under rules set down by the Geneva Convention, or at 
least that was I understood.
