Polls are only as honest as the folks framing the questions.  In March,
1974 -- a month before the fall of South Vietnam to those ravening hordes
from the north! -- the Harris poll was stunned to find that 2/3 of the
American public wanted the US to push the military effort in Viet-Nam to a
North Vietnamese surrender.  That is, USians are not happy with compromise
solutions.  Win or get out.  If you aren't interested in winning, then leave.

GA Douglas MacArthur said it best:  'There is no substitute for victory'.
