Moving Veterans Day

Subject: Moving Veterans Day         
Good news!  Spread the word.

         At a meeting this morning with White House Senior Advisor and W's
former campaign guru Carl Rove,  I spoke to him privately about the report on
election reform presented to the Administration by former Presidents Carter
and Ford.  As you know, one of the suggestions in that report is to move
Veterans Day to election day so people will have the day off and thus, at
least in theory, will be more likely to vote.

         Mr.  Rove told me, in no uncertain terms, the idea of moving
Veterans Day already is "dead" at the White House.  He says President Bush
would not even consider such an idea unless it had the solid backing of
veterans and such support, he is fully aware, is not there.
