I've got your bullshit! Our Corpsman made a weekly run to get the 190-we got

Your Corpsman was a great guy no doubt, however, your original post could
easily be interpreted to indicate that it was a common practice for Corpsmen
to issue grain alcohol to his fellow Marines, and that's how I read it. This
was not the case. Grain Alcohol issued by the Navy Medical Department was
non-existant in the 7th Marine infantry regiment to my knowledge If there
was any available, it would have been at a field hospital far to the rear.
The supplies issued to me as a Corpsman in an rifle platoon consisted solely
of the contents of the Field Medical Kit. Its contained bandage sheers,
morphine, minor surgery kit, tourniquet, Copper Sulfate pads for WP wounds,
et cetera. There was no grain alcohol. I take exception to the implication
that Corpsmen were uniformily issuing alcohol to Marines as a standard
practice during the Korean War. I do not dispute your individual experience,
however.
