Korean War

I "caught" a piece on our Public TV channel last night about the Korean War.

Several things: the narrator said that Gen MacArthur, did think that
nuclear would be necessary to stop the aggression of the Chinese and
Russians. It was just sort of stuck in their while they did the piece on
why he was relieved of his duties.

The footage of the war was painful to watch, especially the weather
conditions coupled with what was going on - and it showed the Chinese
running around like rain drops. Saw pictures of the our soliders leaving
the Chosin Resvoir. I try to picture it in my mind's eye while I read your
emails, but that clearly was not working as I watched the footage last
night. Much worse that I was imigining.

I missed the first half hour, so didn't see the beginning of the misery
when my brother was killed after being there only six days.
Great footage of MacArthur looking like he was directly from
Central Casting and dressed by Edith Head - Silk scarf and all - he sure
looked good whatever he did - he managed to make an appearance while doing
it. Ridgeway may have been good too, but he didn't look a dapper! as I am
sure you all know.
