Well, yes-and-no.  Yes, the Koreans were drafted and forced into Japanese
military service.  But the Japanese and Formosans were universally the
worst of the prison-camp guards, the most brutal, vicious, nasty, and vile
of a brutal, vicious, nasty, and vile lot.

They may not have wanted to serve -- but that hardly earned them the right
to vent their bile on Allied POW's.
