An Officer is not drafted. There were numerous Japanese Officers (ethnic
Korean) on the Rail Road of Death. Just like there were numerous Koreans
throughout the Japanese Army Officer Corps. Let us not forget that all
of the ROK General Officers were former Japanese Officers.
A Sergeant may have been drafted, but when he accepts Non-Commissioned
Officer Status, he accepts the rank and title voluntarily.
The Koreans loved torturing Americans, British, Australian, Dutch and
others. They would do things that would make a Japanese soldier blanche.
The distribution of Korean and Japanese guards on the Rail Road of Death
were pretty much even.
If the Koreans were really anti-Japanese, oppressed or what ever you want
to say, then when and where was the armed revolt of 1944 or 1945?
Most of the Japanese Soldiers were drafted by the Japanese, so your poor
drafted Korean argument doesn't work or make sense. Only an apologist,
Politically Correct, or a person with no honor, responsibility or
integrity would make such a claim.
