Re: "The Berlin Outpost"



There were a number of outposts set up in front of the Eighth Army 
lines. For instance, in front of the 1st Marine Division were Combat 
Outposts Reno, Carson, and Vegas, as well as Hedy, and one or two 
others I cannot remember.The Chinese hit the outposts very hard in 
March 1953. Some of the histories will note this in chapters which 
very well be entitled "War of the Outposts," which is what they were. 
The outposts were titled Combat Outpost XYZ or just Outpost XYZ, 
which is how they will be found in the indexes of Korean War
