That is another long story beyond the limit of our discussion.

Suffice to say that Koreans rose up against Japanese aggression
ever since Japan tried to take over Korea in 1905. Thousands of
Korean patriots took up arms and fought Japanese troops inside
Korea as well as from Manchuria. One of the armed groups
that fought for a long time in the Manchurian area was led by
Kim Il Sung. But, due to the Cold War politics in the post-WW II
period, Rhee regime and the US tried to depict him as an
imposter.
