You are still trying to judge law and ethics as the existed in the past by
today's standards.
And a WWII Fleet submarine did not have the capability to rescue, then feed
and guard enemy prisoners. There was barely enough room aboard for the crew.
And where, when and what group of countries passed and signed this
"humanitarian law" ?
