I am trying to find out about how many men were in a Chinese infantry
battalion in 1953, just before the armistice. Also, how many men were in a
Marine squad.
Thanks.

I can't help you with the Chinese battalion, but a Marine squad had 13 men.

· A Marine rifle-company had three rifle-platoons plus other support units
(i.e., HQ, weapons platoon, machine-gun section, etc.)
· A rifle-platoon had three squads
· Each squad had a squad leader and three four-man fire-teams
· Each fire-team was made up of a BAR-man, an assistant BAR-man, a fire-team
leader, and a rifleman/scout.
Doing the math a Marine squad had 13 men.  DGill
