Subject: Re: changing textbooks/YB-49
& Korean War
Now back to the purpose of this
net - the Korean War - and I have a
question for the net - I've heard or
read that a Northrop YB-49 made a flight
over Korea for recon purposes,
but find that to be a bit far-fetched, since
the range of the -49 with
it's new fuel sucking jet engines was (- 4,000
miles - half?) of it's
older brother the -35. I've several books and
references on both
the -35 and -49 and none of them indicate such a flight of
either of the
- 49's I just thought I'd see if anyone had anything to confirm
that
claim.
As I recall, the plane never got out of the
experimental stage. But I will ask around.
