‘Battles of the Outposts’ ceremony pays homage to veterans of Korean
War, by Jeremy Kirk, Seoul bureau chief

(EXCERPT) CAMP CASEY — After thundering booms, smoke from a 21-gun
salute drifted near a field Friday where dozens of veterans were
recognized for their efforts in the Korean War.

The ceremony — titled “Battles of the Outposts” — remembered the
stalemate phase of the 1950-53 war, with forces struggling over hills
in casualty heavy fighting.
