Mr. Newcomb:
The reason why I told to you “For you, I’m Mr. Zampini” have nothing to do
with arrogance or grandeur dreams. I you read again my message, you will
note that I started with the addressing “Mr. Newcomb”, not “Tony”. It was
the first time I met you, so I did not want to call you by your first name.
And I asked for the same treatment, thing that happened fair to me. You call
me “Diego”, as we knew each other from all our lives, and I did not call you
“Tony”. And I won’t do it until you allow me to do it (and now it seems it
will never happened).
Adittionally, I’ll give some data about me: I’m 30 years old, I born in
1971. Anybody in my community have nothing to do with the Nazis, I’m not a
racist in any way. It is true, many Nazis came to Argentina in the late
1940s (more than 25 years before my birth!) but it was ignored by most of
the population. And for your knowledge, every time that the Argentine police
found a Nazi, it send him back to Europe for judgement. In the early 1990s a
Nazi who participated in the massacre of the Fosas Ardiatinas (1944) was
found and send to Italy for judgement. He was found guilty and put on jail.
If you consider that I don’t understand the American people, try me! Explain
to me how the American people is and give light to my ignorance. I’m not a
close-minded person, if I’m wrong, I’ll admitt my mistakes; but if I’m
right, I’ll defend my position.
Addittionaly, you are forgetting that both, you and me, agree in one thing:
the guilties of such attacks must pay for this massacre. I’m pretty sure my
country, Argentina, will support diplomatic and militarly the US military
action against the terrorists, and I will be happy for that.
Respectfully yours,
Diego Fernando Zampini
