As a point of observation, if we had a good one sharp on the emerging Red Chinese threat in 1950 he could have provided MacArthur with the requisite insight as to how far he could go without stimulating a certified PLA response to actions in Korea. Cookie Sewell AMPS ---------------- Nice thought, but MacArthur seems to have been his own expert who did not care to listen to dissenters. Maybe he had a little help from Willoughby on this one. Can anyone offer a good source on the MacArthur-Willoughby dialogue on the potential for a Chinese intervention for the period July-November 1950? Thanks, Don |
