| The Russians also note that the Soviets did the same thing, with up to four infantry divisions of troops being transferred to the control of Kim Il Sung. These were apparently formed from his followers and refugees from the Japanese colonization effort, and not really "ethnic" Koreans in Soviet uniforms. There is no evidence that I've seen so far they ever fought under Soviet colors as part of the Far Eastern Front.
