I REMEMBER KOREA


I hestitate to report this for fear of causing dispair in the effort to have 
the Korean War remembered, however, here goes:

   My nephew called me last evening.  His kindergarten teacher sent home a 
paper with  American Wars listed and space after each for the children to 
write in family members who participated in each war    Guess which war was 
missing?  Well, my nephew had to squeeze in the proper spot chronologically 
- THE KOREAN WAR,  so he then could add Donovan E. Carter KIA 12/11/50 in in 
the Korean War, my beloved brother, his Uncle.  I was pretty disturbed, but 
encouraged because my nephew, Jimmy Carter (also a school teacher) will 
enlighten the elementary school staff and he also sent Don's picutre along 
in uniform to be put on the wall display about our veterans.
