WELCOME NELSON

Hi Nelson and the rest of you,
So glad you joined the list. For the rest of you Nelson is from the home
town of Don Carter KIA 7/12/50 my brother - who brought me to this list. I
haven't found anyone who knew Don in Japan or Korea on the list - but have
found Nelson who knew him at home and then went on to be in the war too.

I follow along all of the discussions here - and learn a great deal and
am constantly intellectually challenged. Some real "smart guys" and "gals"
on this list - I especially enjoy their brand of humor and "digs" to one
another....

Killroy was really in Northumberland.... 00

Regards, GerneyLee Carter (Don Carter 24d, 21st, 3rd, Co.M)

Subject: Carpet Bombing
Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 21:39:29 EST

Hi all!

We hear nowadays that Air Force
is using carpet bombing against
Taliban positions.

I understand carpet bombing was also
used during the Korean War.
Was this done usually by B-29?
How often was it done?
How many planes were involved usually?
How many bombs were usually dropped together?
What was the usual killing zone?
Aside from targeting the troops, was it
also used against cities, dams, etc.?
